Features of the program

Jiangxi University of Traditional Chinese Medicine(JXUTCM) has been approved by the Ministry of Education, P.R. China as one ofthe public higher learning institutes eligible to recruit internationalstudents. It is also recognized by the World Health Organization (WHO) andAmerica Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG). Theschool began to recruit international students of MBBS with TCM as an extra in2004. Up to 2017, the school has accepted more than 1920 international studentsin all, among whom, 1250 are still studying on campus. To maintain a highquality of teaching, the school recruited experienced professors and lecturersfrom national medical universities in US, India, Nepal, Pakistan and China. Thereward to these efforts is obvious— numerous students have passed the localmedical licensing examinations. And this in turn gained a good internationalreputation for the school.

Ⅰ. Eligibility

1) Foreigncitizens, in good physical and mental health, and awarded a certificate ofgraduation from high school.

2) Aged 18 or above (by September 1, 2017).For the applicant is under 18 years old, should bring the Authorization Letterwhich have parents’ handwritten signature.

Ⅱ. Materials Required for Application

1）Applications should submit Admissions Application withall the information correct and completed.

2) Officialor notarized true copy of final schooling certificate or transcript (onenotarized copy of the translation of the original transcripts in English orChinese is necessary if original transcript is neither in English nor inChinese). Highest educationschool transcripts with subjects (but not limited to) include mathematics,physics, chemistry and English, and obtained minimum 50% marks each.

3) Scancopy of the valid passport.

4) Notarized certificate of frozen deposit.

III. Duration of the Course

Study duration is 6 years includingone year compulsory internship.

IV. Major Courses of the Program

Subjects of foundation stage: Anatomy, Physiology,Biochemistry, Pathology, Pharmacology, Community Medicine, Microbiology,Forensic Medicine and Toxicology, Chinese, Introduction of China.

Subjectsof clinical stage: Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics &Gynecology, Basic theoryof TCM, Chinese, Pediatrics, Orthopedics, Psychiatry, Anesthesiology,Ophthalmology, Otorhinolaryngology, Radiology, Dermatology, Medical Chinese,Emergency medicine, Acupuncture & moxibustion.

V. Fee Structure

VI. Time of Application

Timeof Application is from 1st April 2017 to September 30, 2017.

VII. Admission, Visa Application and Registration

After receiving a complete set of thedocuments for application, JXUTCM shall examine the application materials andthen select the qualified applicants, who will receive an offer of admission,as well as a hardcopy admission confirmation letter and Visa Application Form(JW202) by mail soon.

Admitted applicants should bring passport,Admission Letter, Visa Application Form (JW202), Notarized certificate offrozen deposit etc. to the local Chinese Embassy or Consulate and applyfor a student visa (X1 visa). The students shall register at Jiangxi Universityof Traditional Chinese Medicine on time for the official registration asscheduled on the Admission Letter with the above materials.

School will organize applicantsto take the entrance examination which included natural and humanities subjectsinclude mathematics, physics, chemistry and Englishwithin one week; school has the right to rejectregistration if the applicant’s score can’t reach 50%. School will arrange theapplicants to have physical examination in Nanchang Entry-Exit Inspection andQuarantine within one month; school has the right to reject registration if theapplicant can’t pass the examination.
